Use the exact versions shown above. Even small version mismatches can cause mod rejection, missing registry errors, or failed logins.

Install Steps

  1. Install Minecraft Java Edition.
  2. Make sure you launch Minecraft 1.21.1 at least once.
  3. Install Java JDK 21. This is required for running the NeoForge installer.
  4. Run the NeoForge 21.1.222 installer and install the client profile.
  5. Launch the NeoForge profile once, then close the game.
  6. Open your Minecraft mods folder.
  7. Copy all required mod files into the mods folder.
  8. Start Minecraft using the NeoForge profile and join the server.
Important: the NeoForge installer needs JDK 21. If double-clicking the installer fails, install JDK 21 first and retry.

Where Things Go

NeoForge installer: run it using Java JDK 21 installed on your system.

Mods folder: place the required mod .jar files here:

%AppData%\.minecraft\mods

On Linux, this is commonly ~/.minecraft/mods.

On macOS, this is commonly ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/mods.

Required Mods

Mod Name Description Full Filename
Ensure your mods folder contains this exact set of files. Missing mods or incorrect versions will prevent you from joining the server.

Troubleshooting

  • Game won't launch: confirm you installed the NeoForge profile, not just vanilla Minecraft.
  • Installer won't run: install Java JDK 21 and try again.
  • Server rejects connection: check Minecraft version, NeoForge version, and mod filenames.
  • Missing mods error: make sure every required .jar is in the mods folder.
  • Wrong folder: verify you used the client's actual Minecraft folder, not a downloads folder.
